Choosing a zipper need to pay attention to
(1) The choice should be based on the use of the garment, the way of use and maintenance, the thickness, performance, and color of the fabric, as well as the use of the zipper. Small size zippers should be used for frivolous clothing.(2) The shrinkage, softness, and color of zipper base cloth (bottom belt) should be considered in harmony with the fabric. In addition, because zippers have different adaptability in different environments, special Suggestions should be made to the manufacturer when choosing zippers:
a. What kind of products (leather cases, shoes, and boots, ski clothes, raincoat, tent, snow washed jeans, or more acidic leather products) and other special requirements are used for zippers
b. For the requirements of zipper ingredients, see whether it contains no azo, no nickel, or can overpass needle detector.
Problems about zippers occurred in the process of garment making in the factory:
1. Problems: No. 5 metal zipper, matching with light-colored fabric, has the problem of tooth shifting and dyeing fabric.
2. Cause of the problem: In the groove of the zipper tooth head, the tooth filter holder (fixation process) was not complete and sufficient, and some residual impurities in the production process were stained on the clothes.
3. How to deal with it: Workers of the factory clean the printing on the clothes and scrub the zipper. If the zipper on the clothes is not done, the workers put them into the bucket, clean it with a brush and detergent and dry it out.
4. Note: Please communicate in advance if zippers and metal buckles are used in contrast with fabrics or light-colored fabrics so that the factory can strengthen colorfastness and filter frame in the production process to avoid such problems
